It has recently come to our
attention that the Massachusetts Department of Environmental
Protection as well as certain local boards of health and certain
communities have enacted regulations limiting the operation of
outdoor wood fired boilers during certain times of the year. In
some communities the local Board of Health is requiring that the
units be located certain distances from adjacent dwelling houses
and have minimum stack heights, among other things. In addition,
the Mass DEP has instituted statewide regulations governing the
use of outdoor wood boilers. Crystal Rock Farm, Inc. suggests
that you check with your local town or city board of health
before purchasing and installing an outdoor wood fired boiler on
your property. Crystal Rock Farm cannot be held responsible for
the proper location or operation of your outdoor wood fired
boiler in compliance with all governmental regulations.
